With almost three miles of golden sands, Woolacombe has become extremely popular in recent years and is ideal for both families and watersports enthusiasts alike. In 1999 the English Tourism Council voted Woolacombe as Family Holiday of the year and the resort has achieved both the Blue Flag and Premier Beach Seaside Award for its fantastic beach.
The village has a modern and relaxed feel and is particularly favoured by surfers, both local and from away. Woolacombe has varied shops, pubs and restaurants, high quality hotels and local primary school.
Mortehoe is a pretty and quaint stone built village and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. The small village features several tea rooms and pubs, a thirteenth century church and Mortehoe Heritage Centre which recounts the areas rich maritime history. Mortehoe is also the starting point for many scenic walks along this dramatic stretch of coastline and you can reach neighbouring Lee on foot by following it
