Sidmouth is fifteen miles from the city of Exeter and ten miles from the M5 motorway, located at junction 30. From the A303 join the A30, exit at Honiton and follow the signs for the A375 to Sidmouth.
It was once an extremely important Port and has become a very popular tourist destination. It’s situated on the River Sid and is six miles East of Budleigh Salterton. Sidmouth has predominately Georgian architecture and has a large number of listed buildings.
With a population of some 14,400 people, it is part of the Jurassic coast and is surrounded by lush green fields. The majority of the income is derived from tourism and the town has a good number of retailers including a large department store.
Sidmouth also has good restaurants, pubs and cafes as well as an indoor swimming pool, cinema and golf course.
