Braunton

The village of Braunton is situated approximately 5 miles North West of Barnstaple, on the A361. It is the largest village in England and is home to a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.

As well as farming, tourism is accountable for a large part of the areas income and in recent years it has become particularly popular as a base for surfers wishing to explore the breaks of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe. It is also favoured by those who enjoy mountain biking, skate boarding and bmx. You will find a good range of shops specialising in these areas and from this the village has developed a very relaxed atmosphere.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, Braunton Burrows is a nature reserve which is fantastic for walking. It is the largest sand dune system in the UK and is of international importance, having been designated as the first site in the UK to be listed as a biosphere reserve.

The village itself is mainly level and offers a good range of property, from modern housing estates to large detached properties situated on the outskirts of the area.

Braunton provides four schools, three primary and one comprehensive and college. It is located in an ideal position for travelling to either Barnstaple or Ilfracombe.
