Barnstaple

Barnstaple, the largest town in North Devon, is situated approximately seven miles from the mouth of the River Taw. It has become the main shopping centre for North Devon and has grown considerably over the past few years.

It is a traditional market town which provides a large number of shops, shopping centres and business parks as well as an extensive number of leisure facilities. It has a population of approximately 24,500 people and serves a wide reaching area, from North and East Devon to North Cornwall and parts of Somerset.

Barnstaple has eleven schools in total, nine primary and two secondary. It is also the location for North Devon College, which provides sixth form education and adult learning.
